Artists

Hello artists, you've found it! This is where you become a part of the Ventnor Fringe 2012.

Please read all of the following information before filling in the appropriate application form for you.

We have two types of application form for you to choose from; the ticketed show application form for performances and exhibitions charging an entry fee and needing venue and/or equipment hire, and the free show application form for buskers and artists who are not charging entry into their event.

The Ventnor Fringe, inspired by the Edinburgh and Brighton Fringe Festivals, is unique on the Island in that it is an open access arts festival in which anybody can take part - especially you!

Applications are open to amateurs and professionals alike, working in any creative discipline from across the UK and further afield, and providing we can offer you a suitable space, we’ll always accept your application; there is no ‘judging’ process.

Applications can be submitted by artists or Promoters/Producers, but should always be completed by the person that will act as our main contact point.

Nearer the time, we will also have the opportunity for you to apply as a stall holder to sell your creations in a part of the festival. More news will be posted about this in the coming month or so, but for now if you would like to ask any more questions about this please feel free to email us at hello@vfringe.co.uk.

You can also email us at hello@vfringe.co.uk if you have any more questions about the application process.

It is advisable to apply as soon as possible so as to be able to find and claim the most suited venues and accommodation for you.

Applications close 1st June 2012…so what are you waiting for?

The Ticketed Show Application Form

This is most common way for artists to take part in Fringe, and allows you to charge the audience an entry fee (which you decide) into your event, be it a music performance, an exhibition, a workshop or theatre production. There is no criteria or selection process for these applications, we accept everyone who applies.

We will then help you to find a suitable venue to hire, which could be a theatre space, a church, an empty shop or basement for example. Applicants are responsible for covering all their own costs and in addition there is a small application fee of...

£25 for a single event/performance

or

£40 for multiple events/performances

This fee go towards our costs to have you listing in main printed Programme, on our website, providing stewards for your event etc

However, as with all Fringe Festivals, you are entitled to 100% of your own ticket sales!

The Free Show Application Form

This application form means that you cannot charge entry into your events, but you do not have to pay an application fee.

This type of application is ideal for buskers and roaming street performers, as well as being able to include live visual artists. It is best suited to acoustic acts and those who do not have preferences for particular venues.

Please note that with this application you will NOT be permitted to sell any CDs, art work or other merchandise during your performance/event. However, there will be the opportunity to sell your work at a designated stall in another part of the festival. Please let us know if you would like us to arrange this for you.

Come and grace Ventnor's street's with your presence and bring it to life!

Please note...

Please be aware that because you have opted for no entrance fee or cost to the audience for your performance you will NOT be permitted to sell any merchandise during your performance or on the street. However, should you wish to sell CDs or other merchandise there will be an opportunity for you to do so else where in the festival, so please inform us if you would like us to arrange this for you. As buskers and street acts you are welcome to perform at any point and as often as you like during the festival. However, we would also like to timetable a number of the performances so that we provide you with a good location and make the public more aware of your involvement.

We'd also love for you to join us on our float for the Ventnor Carnivals on Wednesday afternoon and Saturday night!! It's always a lot of fun, and worth the dressing up!

STALL HOLDERS

If your a painter, a craftsman or perhaps have a vintage clothes company for example, we'll have information about how you can have a stall at the Fringe available here very soon, so please do keep checking back.
